What if we live as if we are called by God?
Ephesians 4:1 "I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, entreat you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called."
How would our lives change, if we believed we were adopted sons
and daughters of Father God, and if we believed God has chosen us to love? What if He
has picked us to share His love with those we come in contact with each day? What if
we really accept that the resources of the Father are accessible to us?
To walk in a manner worthy-is to live a life
that measures up to something-that is balanced to your worth-the word for worthy
here, is about something with intrinsic
value. It can be different than the external or appraised value. For example; a house has an appraised value based on the size, the location, the quality, and the other houses in the neighborhood. But a home has an intrinsic value that is based on memories, comfort, and your style, it's your family's place to dwell. The intrinsic value can mean very little to others, but it can be priceless to you.
We have an
incredible value to God, Jesus Christ died for us, He gave us life, what is
that worth to us? I have been asking myself, and I will ask you-what have you
decided your salvation is worth? How have you appraised your life in Christ?
What is it worth to you to be a Christian?
The answer will determine how you live.
Do you believe you are the beggar who has bread and you can’t get enough of it-you want to tell others you have the answer to their life questions? Or today
has life become to you like the Israelites in the dessert who complained about
the manna? What God had provided wasn’t enough-they wanted meat. Often we want more than
what God have given us, we want something different.
What
if we really lived today as if we were called by God, loved by God, and
we just get the privilege of sharing His love? Our purpose in life and how we walk
in manner worthy is simple-we grow in our love for God and we allow Him to love others
thru us. It is simple, not easy, but what if we, as individuals and as a church family live as if we were
called by God-simply to love Him and love others?
